The Science Survey

Melanie Lin, Staff Reporter

Melanie Lin is an Editor-in-Chief for 'The Science Survey.' She enjoys portraying mundane things in fascinating ways through journalistic writing and describing complex emotions through journalistic photography. “Everyone and everything has a beautiful story to tell,” she says. “It’s up to you to spin words into gold and make it interesting.” Melanie enjoys painting and journaling in her free time, but tends to stray towards digital art and cooking for stress relief. Her taste in music is an international mixture of Doja Cat, Ariana Grande, Yerin Baek, Girls In The Park, LOONA, and more. Melanie is also a cultural dancer for school club Lunar New Year Productions where she has performed traditional, modern, and fusion East Asian dance performances. When she is not studying, dancing, or painting, Melanie loves to play Genshin Impact, write science fiction, and analyze socio-political environments in fictional settings within fleeting journal entries. Her favorite subject in school is biology and she plans to study health in college in order to pursue medicine in the future.
