Jaymie Paredes, Staff Reporter
Jaymie Paredes is a Managing Editor/Advisory Editor for ‘The Science Survey.’ Aside from composing articles, she helps to manage deadlines to make sure that issues are released at an appropriate time. She also helps to copy-edit her peers’ articles, since journalism is a collaborative effort. She is interested in the way that journalistic writing allows for the spread of ideas because it provides a medium for people to share information. She believes that it is important for the young to stay informed in order to make educated decisions now and in the future. Meanwhile, she finds the different angles of journalistic photography appealing because it showcases different perspectives and captures meaningful moments. Outside of school, Jaymie enjoys trying different mediums to create traditional art, including watercolor and acrylic paint. She especially enjoys portrait drawings of characters in the books she has read. Jaymie plans on studying biology in college because she wants to be a pediatrician in the future. Regardless of what happens in ten years, she hopes to feel accomplished and content, and she hopes to achieve a balance between her career life and personal life.
