Emi Hare-Yim, Staff Reporter
Emi Hare-Yim is an Editor-in-Chief for ‘The Science Survey’. What draws Emi to journalism is her love of crafting something beautiful — for her, it’s all about the eloquence of the piece. But at the same time, she values the craft of an engaging and factual story; it’s important to find a balance between both. Emi was previously on the Bronx Science Congressional Debate Team, and now works to create debate workshops in her communities to foster civic engagement. She is also in the Bronx Science Social Science Research program, where she researches political phenomena. Outside of academia, Emi is quite musical, attending the Manhattan School of Music Precollege for classical voice. In terms of college, Emi sees herself studying political science, and writing for her school’s newspaper — and the latter is thanks to her three years on this publication.
