When asked whether her view of Spanish has changed from a child to an adult, Ms. Lozano said, “ In the past, I used to take my language for granted. Now, I am teaching the language so I research more because if [my students] ask me a question about the origins of something, I need to educate myself further. Back then, I was a lot more carefree. “Reaching out to other students from the class of 2020 who got accepted into my Early Action college was so incredibly helpful. The supplementary questions were exactly the same this year, so I was able to see successful answers to those questions that other Bronx Science students wrote. Their examples helped me to start thinking out of the box and really be unafraid to include some quirky/out there answers. It also made me feel supported to have them edit and look over what I had written. I loved getting to listen and learn from their experiences, and apply that knowledge to my own application. Don’t be afraid to reach out to the class of 2021, even if it’s someone you don’t know very well. We would love to help you with your application process, whether you need advice, edits, or just want to toss ideas around! said Enza Jonas-Giugni ’21.
