A Bridge to the Big Apple: The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in U.S. that was built in 1883 with a length expanding up to 1,597 ft. The bridge was constructed in order to span the East River between the boroughs of Brooklyn and the Manhattan. It was the first traffic route between Manhattan and Brooklyn and the first long-span suspension bridge to carry motor vehicles.
