Daniela Castro is an Editor-in-Chief of the ‘The Science Survey’ and a Reporter for the People Section in the Bronx Science Yearbook, ‘The Observatory.’ She enjoys journalistic writing because of its reliance on facts and truth, and because it allows her to channel passionate feelings on current events. She feels that photojournalism brings an audience to important events by getting them to grasp the details within the story and giving a sense of perspective to the reader. Outside of school she is an intern at The Magnasco Lab in Rockefeller University involving the study of dolphin communication. She enjoys reading Spanish literature, and she always buys various books in her frequent visits to Cuba and Spain. Daniela plans to pursue journalism once she graduates, and she is excited to see what awaits in her future.
