Jean Namgung, Staff Reporter
Jean Namgung is a Copy Chief for ‘The Observatory’ and a Staff Reporter for ‘The Science Survey.’ Although this is her first year in journalism at Bronx Science, she has always loved writing and really believes in the power of storytelling. For her, it is more than just articles and current events, but a microphone to the world that bridges communities together. And while she loves to write, she strongly believes that a picture can tell a thousand words. She loves photography and all of the many aspects of shade, light, balance that come together to tell a story on its own. Outside of the classroom Jean is one of ten students apart of a program called “NBC News Young Leaders in Journalism” and a prospective intern this summer. She is also the lead in the school’s musical, ‘Bye Bye Birdie,” and one day hopes to be on Broadway. In her free time she writes songs, takes Cookie, her toy poodle, out on walks, and creates recipes for her upcoming family dinners. In college, Jean hopes to pursue journalism and one day be a news anchor or foreign correspondent and use all she has learned inside the classroom to the fullest.
