The Science Survey

Helen Stone, Staff Reporter

Helen Stone is the Editor in Chief and Facebook Editor for ‘The Science Survey.’ She is interested in journalistic writing because she believes that a free press and telling the stories of the people are integral to a liberal democracy. Journalistic photography is especially interesting to her because a photograph can demonstrate an idea, or prove a point, that would not have been possible in words. Helen spends most of her time outside of school at the ice rink practicing figure skating as a member of Team USA or across the street at Harris Field for Girls’ Varsity Soccer practice. She is also interested in baking, embroidery, crocheting, and hiking. Helen pursues her interest in writing and photography as a Senior Editor for Bronx Science’s literary magazine, Dynamo. She plans on studying Environmental Studies and American Culture in college and hopes to continue her writing career with journalism or another form of writing, throughout college and beyond.
