The Science Survey

Darya Lollos
Darya Lollos is a Feature Editor for the ‘Science Survey. As an editor, she reads through all of the articles written for the Feature section and contributes to the thorough editing process to help make each article as good as possible. What Darya finds most appealing about doing journalistic writing is the difference from typical academic writing (such as essays). She finds it enjoyable to write in a journalistic style, using facts and quotes from others to create a narrative. To Darya, the most appealing thing about taking photographs that tell a story is that the photographer is able to experience what is happening, so they are able to not only tell the story through the picture, but also understand the context behind it. After school, Darya plays volleyball, and is captain of the Bronx Science Girls’ Varsity Volleyball team. In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and bingeing on Netflix with her mom.
