Zoha Syed is an Editorial Editor for ‘The Science Survey.’ She enjoys how journalism combines the writer’s own perspective with arts, culture, and current events. She especially loves the in-depth view of a topic provided by long form journalism, and the thought provoking nature of creative nonfiction. Zoha is drawn to photography as a way to deepen and ground the work in reality, especially when the events narrated feel unreal and out of touch. Outside of school, she can be found in her room with her cat, or reading classic literature. Her current favorites are Albert Camus’ The Stranger and Aeschylus’ Oresteia. She also does creative writing and is a part of the school’s creative writing club. Although she plans on studying astrophysics in college, she doesn’t want to neglect her education in humanities either, and would like to continue writing into adulthood.
