Hailey Espinales-Fernandez, Staff Reporter
Hailey Espinales-Fernandez is a Content and Proofreading Editor for ‘The Science Survey.’ Part of her responsibility is to correct any grammatical errors and inconsistencies within the content of her colleagues’ articles. She also assists in fact-checking any research that has been cited within the articles. Hailey has grown to value her involvement in journalism because it is a multifaceted approach to educating the public. Not only does journalism encourage the development of creative liberties, but it is a mechanism to connect different people through a vast array of topics. Hailey’s particular interest in journalistic photography mainly stems from the appreciation of each unique moment; she is passionate about encapsulating every detail, even in the simplest of scenes. Outside of school, Hailey finds enjoyment through baking for family and friends, and volunteering with local organizations in order to equitably provide access to education and food. Hailey does see a future in which she will incorporate her developed passion for diverse photography and journalistic research despite her intended major being in political science in hopes to pursue a career in law. She believes that although there are clear distinctions between the fields, she will be able to make use of the places of overlap in order to initiate social change within society.
