Ashley Chen is a News Editor and Social Media Editor for ‘The Science Survey.' She admires the creative nature of journalistic writing, in that it gives a personal take on a story. Whether they attempt to inform, amuse, provide an argument, or simply narrate, journalists have the ability to uncover hidden insights, broadening the reader’s perspective. Above all, Ashley enjoys writing about the current news because of her unwavering commitment to enlightening facts as well as providing an analytical aspect to the News. Ashley finds the news to consistently be captivating, as it has many versatile topics that can be explored – such as politics, entertainment, art, and economics – giving readers and herself a diverse reading experience. Moreover, she believes in the ability of photography as an additional lens to exemplify the article elements, helping readers to visualize the topic in a resourceful way. Outside of school, Ashley likes taking pictures, traveling, baking, curating Pinterest boards, and watching documentaries. In the near future, she plans to study the field of business, taking forth her passion for creative storytelling and reporting into college and the professional world.
