The Bronx Science Boys’ Varsity Soccer team had an exciting and competitive Fall 2024-2025 season, showcasing their talent and determination on the field. The season kicked off with two early forfeits from opposing teams, allowing Bronx Science to start strong before playing. The team secured a remarkable victory against John F. Kennedy Campus with a score of 7-0 and continued their momentum with a close 2-1 win over Beacon High School. Throughout the season, they demonstrated their skill and teamwork, achieving impressive results, including a thrilling 4-4 draw against John F. Kennedy Campus and a solid 4-2 victory over Washington Irving High School. Despite facing tough competition, the team remained resilient, ending the season with a commendable performance that highlighted their growth, quality, and passion for the sport.

Anayah Hogue, Staff Reporter
Anayah Hogue is a Copy Chief for ‘The Science Survey.’ In terms of journalistic writing, she finds it appealing in that that journalism allows one to express their passion through writing. Anayah likes music and traveling to places to which she has never been before. She plans on majoring in neurology in college, and becoming a neurologist specializing in treating epilepsy as a career.

Abigael Sidi is a Managing Editor and Advisory Editor for ‘The Science Survey.’ She has loved writing for years and has joined every newspaper she could since elementary school. She’s always loved journalism for its investigative angle that digs deeply into what may appear to be an obscure and unknown story. She has always appreciated the devotion of journalists to their topics and their determination to provide compelling, enjoyable, and informative pieces. She firmly believes in the importance of journalism and keeping it alive. She also values photojournalism for the visuals that it provides to readers; Abby thinks that giving readers an optical perspective of a story always helps draw them in and retain the information they read. Outside of school, she loves to read mystery, thriller, and romance novels, as well as listen to music. In fact, she will frequently do both at the same time. She also loves to travel to new places with her family and discover new food dishes as she goes. Her journalistic experiences have led Abby to have high respect for all journalism and journalists, and she hopes to continue it in some capacity in the future. Even though she hopes to pursue a career in international relations, she recognizes the advantages that journalistic skills will provide for her and will always have a love for the art. She is confident that she will look to see the newest articles on The New York Times every morning for years to come.
Bethany Karlinsky, Staff Reporter
Bethany Karlinsky is a Copy Chief for ‘The Science Survey.’ She loves that through journalism one can craft a story that is both informative and riveting to read, benefitting people in a variety of ways. She believes in the necessity of true and reliable journalism. Bethany reads various articles from outside newspapers, as well as writes her own. Moreover, she also enjoys journalistic photography as she believes pictures can tell a story in themselves, making them a large asset to articles. Outside of journalism, Bethany is on the debate team and pursues social science research. She also loves to relax by listening to music and reading a good book. In the future she plans to integrate her love for debate and journalism, aiming to study political science, history, and psychology.

Ashley Chen is a Content and Proofreading Editor for ‘The Science Survey.’ She admires the creative and analytical nature of journalistic writing. Whether they inform, amuse, provide an argument, or simply narrate, journalists have the ability to uncover and deepen their unique take on a certain topic, broadening the reader’s perspective. Ashley especially enjoys writing about the current news because of her unwavering commitment to provide facts and personality for a diverse reading experience. She believes in the ability of photography as an additional lens to exemplify journalistic elements in a creative manner. Outside of school, she likes baking pastries, curating Pinterest boards, and watching documentaries. In the near future, Ashley plans to study the field of business, taking forth her passion for creative storytelling and reporting into college and the professional world.
