Shahabir Sami is an Editor-in-Chief for the ‘The Science Survey.’ As an Editor-in-Chief, Shahabir provides the third and final overall edit for his peers’ articles alongside ensuring deadlines are met in order to facilitate publication. Shahabir finds journalistic writing appealing due to its ability to transform a perspective, to increase morale, and to bring the world through the lenses of fascinating individuals to life. Shahabir takes an interest in journalistic photography because he believes that each photograph tells a unique story. Whether it is a headshot of an interviewee or a depiction of a modern-day issue, every photograph exhibits a significance that serves to accentuate its accompanying journalistic article. Shahabir has several pastimes outside of school such as creative writing and songwriting, learning piano and guitar, playing soccer, reading books (especially timeless classics), and watching movies. Some of his favorite books are ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray,’ ‘Of Mice and Men,’ and ‘The Grapes of Wrath.’ Some of his favorite movies include ‘It’s a Wonderful Life,’ ‘Enemy at the Gates,’ and ‘Slumdog Millionaire.’ In college, Shahabir plans to major in Mathematics. Eventually, he hopes to go to medical school to pursue his childhood passion of becoming a neurosurgeon, all the while remaining as an active blogger to share his opinions and experiences with others.
