Payel Islam is a Staff Reporter for ‘The Science Survey’ and Copy Chief for ‘The Observatory.’ She enjoys capturing moments through journalistic photography and learning more about those around her while interviewing them for articles. Aside from writing for the newspaper and yearbook, Payel’s other interests include reptiles, knitting, watching films, and baking. When she is not occupied with her hobbies, she can be found eating Southern food at her favorite restaurant, Jacob’s Pickles, located in the Upper West Side. In the future, Payel hopes to pursue a career as an orthodontist.
