The Science Survey

Najmul Miah, Staff Reporter

Najmul Miah is the Sports Editor of ‘The Science Survey’ and an Athletics Section Reporter for ‘The Observatory.’ As a Sports Editor, he is responsible for editing and supervising the submission of articles in the Sports section as well as reporting on athletics throughout the school. What he finds most appealing about journalistic writing is the opportunity it provides for him to share stories that often go unheard; both locally and worldwide, there is so much that goes on that doesn’t always receive the full attention of the mainstream media. In addition, his life-long passion for photography has driven him towards journalism as well. Photographs tell stories that sometimes can’t be described by words alone and so he believes photographs are an integral part of proper journalism. Outside of school, his interests include volunteering with a nonprofit organization that works with youth in vulnerable communities in Africa as well as urban exploring throughout New York City to take photos. In college, he intends to merge all of his interests together and study communications and marketing.
