Maheen Alam is a Content and Proofreading Editor for ‘The Science Survey,’ using his writing, editing, and fact checking skills to convey accurate, reliable information to readers. He is responsible for fact checking his colleagues' articles prior to publication, in order to ensure that the information presented is factual, objective, and engaging. He believes fair journalism is essential for preserving democracy and civility. He believes that journalists have a responsibility to deliver important information relevant to their audiences to ensure they are informed of events happening in the world around them. Maheen enjoys writing articles about topics and events that interest him, such as political events and current events. He uses journalistic photography to help readers visualize real world events. He enjoys traveling around New York City, taking photos, and exploring new places. Outside of school, Maheen likes to listen to music, read political commentary, play video games, and design fantasy maps of the New York City subway system. Maheen hopes to study political science and journalism in college and use his knowledge to be a change maker in his community.
