Kaya Scheman, Editor-in-Chief & Staff Reporter
Kaya Scheman is an Editor-in-Chief for The Science Survey and a Staff Reporter for The Observatory. This is her third year on the newspaper and her first year writing for the yearbook. In her previous years as a reporter for The Survey, Scheman heavily reported on city-wide health issues, including a highlight story on Bronx Science’s enlistment in a city-wide health care program. When she is not busy editing reporters’ stories and laying out the newspaper, Kaya enjoys playing competitive soccer, working at her research lab, and practicing piano. She loves listening to the Grateful Dead and playing ultimate frisbee with her parents in her free time. Kaya hopes to study global health in college and later move to a foreign country where she can conduct research in hopes of combatting global mental health inequities.
