Jing Mae Wang is a Copy Chief Editor for ‘The Science Survey’ and an Academics Section Reporter for ‘The Observatory.’ The students of Bronx Science are a force to be reckoned with and many will become leaders in their chosen subjects. It is vital that the school’s newspaper keep them up to date on important issues and varying student perspectives. An important process in keeping articles factual and to-the-point is the editing stage. As Copy Chief, Wang gives every article the attention to detail needed in order to provide readers the highest quality of writing. The goal for any journalist is to tell a story and tell it well. Wang’s passion for storytelling, as realized through an affinity for performing and creative writing, lends itself well to writing of a journalistic nature. As Wang progress in the field of acting, Wang knows that the journalistic skills developed during Wang’s time with ‘The Science Survey’ and ‘The Observatory’ has solidified how to effectively communicate with others. These skills will be useful for the rest of Wang’s life.
