David Shin is the Editorial Editor for the Science Survey and a Student Life Reporter for the Observatory. Besides journalism, David is an active member of the arts community and is an oboist of various youth ensembles including Carnegie Hall’s Future Music Project Ensemble and the precollege division of the Manhattan School of Music. He is inspired by David Remnick, the editor-in-chief of the New Yorker magazine, and The New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof. In college, he hopes to study music, communications, and management.
