Alicia Yue is an Arts and Entertainment Editor for “The Science Survey.’ Alicia is passionate about journalism and the beauty of writing because she finds that it helps one indulge deeply into a topic, and to hone in on the skills and understanding of this topic. Furthermore, she finds the process of perfecting a piece to be incredibly satisfying. Alicia believes that journalism is a crucial way in our daily lives to keep the public informed about important issues, and to spread messages to communities as well. Journalism helps to keep records of the past, as well. However, Alicia also believes that journalism can be an incredible outlet for expression of different topics. She is also very passionate about photography, because through photos, one is able to capture moments, experiences, and emotions — all in one frame. Overall, she is an artistic person, and enjoys all different types of art mediums. Whether it is photography or painting, Alicia appreciates all artistic endeavors. Outside of school, Alicia has a deep connection with traveling around the world to scenic places – whether the destination is hot or cold. In her free time, Alicia hangs out with her friends, and she loves going biking, swimming, and playing with her dog. She has the plan to possibly pursue economics, public policy, or ethics in college. Alicia is also hoping to incorporate journalism and writing into her future endeavors, and she is planning on continuing pursuing a path of writing for the foreseeable future.
