The Bronx Science Winter Concert on December 17th and 18th, 2024, was an amazing showcase of our student musicians’ talent. The show featured everything from classical pieces to jazz to holiday songs. Under the direction of Mr. Paul DeSilva and Mr. Juan Mantilla, the chorus wowed the audience with songs like ‘The Shadow of Your Smile’ and the upbeat ‘Africa.’ Bronx Science’s Jazz Band brought energy to the stage with Thelonious Monk’s ‘Blue Monk,’ while the Orchestra delivered powerful performances of Brahms’s ‘Variations on a Theme by Haydn’ and Strauss’s ‘Radetzky March,’ which even got the audience clapping along! The Concert Band finished off the night with beautiful pieces like Morricone’s ‘Gabriel’s Oboe.’ Overall, the concert highlighted the incredible musical community at Bronx Science and showed off the passion and hard work of all the students and teachers involved in both preparation and performance.
