Yi Lan Zhang is a Staff Reporter for ‘The Science Survey’ and a Groups Section Staff Reporter for ‘The Observatory.’ She sees journalism as a medium that captures the thoughts and actions of the present world through print. Yi Lan appreciates photography for its ability to preserve a moment in a restricted time frame. In her free time, Yi Lan journeys around New York City for food spots to blog about, and donates her time to community service projects. She loves meeting new people, and she enjoys learning about the special stories that individuals carry with them. Yi Lan plans to be a Nutritionist who can guide people towards healthy lifestyles. She appreciates journalism for its ability to inform readers about timely events. Yi Lan also plans on making an online food blog in the future.
