Karishma Ramkarran, Staff Reporter
Karishma Ramkarran is an Editor-in-Chief for ‘The Observatory’ yearbook and a Staff Reporter for 'The Science Survey' newspaper. She appreciates journalistic writing because of its unique ability to protect democracy by keeping the people informed. Journalists have, since the foundation of America, played a pivotal role in holding those in power accountable. Karishma finds it is equally important that journalists create human empathy by sharing people’s personal stories, further uplifting communities as a whole. In her free time, Karishma likes to watch Star Wars with her father, explore restaurants in Manhattan with her friends, and read fantasy and science-fiction novels. Karishma hopes she can continue to foster her love for journalism by writing for a college newspaper. As a prospective history major, Karishma can see herself as a historian in the future.
