Alia Yeancades, Business Manager
Alia Yeancades is currently in her second year in Journalism as a Business Manager and Staff Reporter for ‘The Science Survey,’ and an Athletics Staff Reporter for ‘The Observatory.’ By becoming a Staff Reporter, Alia has had countless opportunities and continues to meet new people, diversifying her friend group with students with vastly different interests coming from all grades within Bronx Science. In addition, being a Business Manager allows her to not only help raise money to fund the newspaper but it also allows her to do what she loves best: exploring New York City. Outside of being a passionate member of the Varsity Girls’ Badminton team for her third consecutive year as well as several clubs at Bronx Science, Alia enjoys aimlessly wandering Manhattan with her friends discovering new places to eat while taking photos of their adventures. She hopes to one day be accepted to The Cooper Union as an aspiring Civil Engineer while looking at programs that would help her pursue a non-provisional patent for a provisional patent that she currently already pending. Regardless of the fact that she wishes to pursue a career in the STEM and entrepreneurial fields she never wants to give up her photography and writing hobbies.
