Aissata Barry is a Copy Chief for ‘The Science Survey.’ She believes that journalism is appealing because it creates a fascinating connection between a reader and the world. She finds photography to be an essential element of an article because it allows the reader to visualize stories and to truly experience the article. In her free time, Aissata enjoys reading science fiction and poetry. Her favorite authors are Octavia Butler and Safia Elhillo. In college, she plans to study African American Studies and history, along with writing for her college newspaper. In the future, Aissata hopes to become a lawyer or educator.
