The Science Survey

Julia Catrambone, Staff Reporter

Julia Catrambone is a Copy Chief for the ‘The Science Survey’ and a Staff Reporter for ‘The Observatory.’ As Copy Chief, she edits articles by staff reporters after they have been reviewed by their section editor. She enjoys journalistic writing because she believes that through reading articles, one becomes better equipped to dissect complex subjects, and through writing, one is able to delve into the nuances of a subject in order to gain a deeper understanding. Furthemore, she appreciates journalistic photography because, even though journalists may strive to write without bias, photography is a truly impartial medium that can capture details unnoticed by writers. Outside of school, she is a policy intern at State Senator Gustavo Rivera’s office, where she enjoys interacting with constituents and helping them. She really enjoys reading and some of her favorite books include “Interpreter of Maladies” by Jhumpa Lahiri, “I Know This Much is True” by Wally Lamb, and “When You’re Engulfed in Flames” by David Sedaris. She plans on pursuing a dual degree in English and Neuroscience and also hopes to travel and write a book of her own one day.
