The Science Survey

Daniela Castro
Daniela Castro is the Sports Editor for ‘The Science Survey’ and a Student Life Reporter for ‘The Observatory’. She enjoys journalistic writing because of its reliance on facts and truth, and because it is a writer’s platform that allows her to channel passionate feelings on current events. She feels that photojournalism brings an audience to important events by getting them to grasp the details within the story and giving a sense of perspective to the reader. Outside of school she is an intern at The Magnasco Lab in Rockefeller University and helps scientists with the study of dolphin communication. She enjoys reading Spanish literature, and she always buys various books in her frequent visits to Cuba and Spain. Daniela is still undecided on what she plans to pursue in college, not yet wanting to commit to just one field of study, but she is more inclined towards majors in communications and journalism.
