Before, after and in between class periods, students can be seen sitting together in the hallways. Students will congregate together and socialize during their free periods as an alternative to meeting in the cafeteria or library. The hallways are particularly filled during colder months, as many prefer to stay indoors. The hallways serve as much more than a way to get to each class. Students interact and hang out, and the many hallways in the school allow them to do so in a less crowded environment compared to the other common areas.
