With almost three dozen different courses, the World Languages Department at Bronx Science is filled with culture and opportunities. Bronx Science offers six languages: Chinese, French, Japanese, Latin, Spanish and Italian. While only two years of a world language are required by the school, many students choose to take advanced level courses to gain fluency in the language, while also learning about the culture as a whole. Language allows for the communication between people of all backgrounds, and it is fascinating to travel the world while understanding your surroundings. Although it is impossible to fully understand a culture by taking a class, the educated teachers and multitude of world language courses help students learn as much about the world as possible. Below are photos from the various courses within the World Languages Department.
